Hi there! I’m Vanessa
For as long as I can remember, food has been at the core of my favorite memories. When I was little I would pull my tiny blue stool up to the counter and plead with my mom to let me help make dinner. This led to me to take a culinary arts class in high school, and I pursued this passion further into college, where I earned a degree in baking & pastry. After some years in the hospitality and catering industry, I found my way back into the kitchen, drawn by my one true love, soup.
Maybe it’s my infatuation with Dutch oven pots, or the fact that I have yet to tire of soup, but I find it almost magical. The healing powers of a bowl of warm broth when you’re feeling cruddy. The unlimited varieties, toppings, and parings. Or maybe it’s because soup somehow tastes even better the next day. You can’t convince me soup isn’t the most magical of dishes! Or better yet, in the words of Virgina Woolf - “Soup is cuisine’s kindest course”

I make everything in small batches in Tallahassee, Florida. To achieve optimal flavor and quality, I strive my best to source my ingredients from local markets and organic vendors.
